Viscosity for Eight Gaseous and Vapor Mixtures: Revisited from Experiment Between 297 K and 638 K. Final and Preliminary Values for the Interaction Viscosity and for the Product of Molar Density and Diffusion Coefficient in the Limit of Zero Density

Low-density viscosity measurements on eight gaseous and vapor mixtures between 297 K 638 K, originally performed using oscillating-disk viscometers, were re-evaluated after improved re-calibration. The relative combined expanded ( $$k=2$$ ) uncertainty of the data are 0.2 % near room temperature increases to 0.3 at higher temperatures. converted into quasi-isothermal data. Those for carbon dioxide–ethane, propane–isobutane, methanol–triethylamine could be used determine zero-density initial density viscosities, $$\eta _\text{mix}^{(0)}$$ _\text{mix}^{(1)}$$ . dioxide–ethane agree almost perfectly with values theoretically computed nonspherical potential intermolecular interaction. Three procedures applied interaction viscosity, _{ij}^{(0)}$$ , product molar diffusion, $$(\rho D_{ij})^{(0)}$$ both in limit zero density. In a first procedure only applicable three mentioned mixtures, derived from additionally requiring $$A_{ij}^*$$ (ratio effective cross sections diffusion). This should provide best results when it is possible use potential. was feasible which experimentally based calculated values.
